MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY
Since its foundation at 2011, the aims of the Çankaya University Department of Psychology have been to offer students a high-quality undergraduate program that adopt the general mission and vision of Çankaya University which can be defined as being successful at both scientific education and application. Our students who are graduated as psychologists are those who could provide significant contributions to corporations and organizations operating in different fields of psychology; have the abilities of scientific thinking, analyzing, synthesizing, and modeling; could generate information that would be used universally; follow the ethical rules during information generation, research, and application procedures; could share their knowledge and experiences actively with the society and other scientists who work on related domains; could make contributions on cumulative theoretical knowledge and practical applications in our country and in the world. Çankaya University Department of Psychology takes also an active role in the center of developments in both academia and practice. Consistently, our students are strongly encouraged to conduct studies under supervision of our staff and attend to congresses, symposiums, national and international meetings to present their research.
One of the most important factors that determine the quality of education in the departments of psychology is to have academic staff who are specialized in the main subfields of psychology which are clinical, social, industrial and organizational, developmental, and cognitive psychology. Our department has an academic staff who are specialized in various fields of psychology including clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, and social psychology. Thus, our students can easily access the knowledge in the area of their interest, and they are provided by the most appropriate and accurate guidance during their career development. Besides, every year our staff and students collaboratively study on academic research and they participate in top-quality national and international congresses and conferences in order to present their collaborative studies. Our students who aim to pursue an academic career are strongly encouraged and supported by our academic staff throughout their undergraduate education and they are accepted to graduate schools of various high-quality national and international universities.
We are extremely happy that our students and graduates embody honor and privilege of being a member and a graduate of the Çankaya University Department of Psychology, which is among the very few departments in Turkey that offer a program in which the medium of education is English, much better than we do.
